Measurement & Verification is the process of calculating energy savings. M&V techniques can be used by facility owners for the following purposes:
a) Increase energy savings
b) Document financial transactions
c) Enhance financing for efficiency projects
d) Improve facility design, operations, and maintenance
e) Manage energy budgets
When EEI is contracted to produce M&V reports, the team gathers historical utility data, a minimum of 2-3 years prior, for your building and adjusts for degree day weather data. The resulting difference between the baseline energy factor and your actual utility usage, after project completion, is where you will find significant savings! Our M&V contracts are unique for each customer because it is based on local utility rates and their actual energy usage.
